Alex Edwards

LLB, DipPFS

Alex specialises in helping clients navigate complex financial planning decisions, particularly where tax planning, estate planning and later-life considerations intersect. Originally pursuing a legal career before moving into financial planning, he is a fully accredited member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and is currently working towards Chartered Financial Planner status.

About

Clients often describe Alex as calm, reassuring and highly knowledgeable. Many say he gives them the confidence to make decisions they did not previously feel comfortable making, helping them move forward with greater clarity and certainty.

Alex particularly enjoys helping clients work through situations that initially feel complex, stressful or overwhelming. He takes pride in bringing structure and clarity to difficult decisions, helping clients understand their options and move forward with confidence. The moment a client realises there is a clear path forward is one of the most rewarding aspects of his role.

Originally pursuing a legal career, Alex graduated with a Law degree before being called to the Bar through the Government Legal Department. He later transitioned into financial planning, where he found the same intellectual challenge in helping clients solve complex problems and make informed decisions. He is particularly passionate about later-life planning and considers attaining SOLLA accreditation to be one of his proudest professional achievements.

Alex enjoys working with collaborative and open-minded clients who value thoughtful discussion and careful planning. He believes one of the biggest misconceptions about financial planning is that it is only relevant to a narrow group of people, when in reality good advice can help individuals and families make better decisions at every stage of life.

Outside work, Alex enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. Friends and colleagues know him as both highly competitive and deeply considerate, qualities that are reflected in his approach to financial planning. He cares deeply about helping clients achieve good outcomes and is committed to providing the clarity and confidence needed to make important decisions.
