Tony specialises in helping individuals and families turn financial goals into practical, achievable plans. Drawing on experience across banking, mortgage advice and financial planning, he believes good financial planning starts with understanding what is truly important to clients and helping them take confident action towards the future they want.
Clients frequently describe Tony as helpful, supportive and reassuring. Many value the peace of mind that comes from knowing they have a trusted adviser who genuinely cares about their goals and takes the time to explain complex issues in a clear and straightforward way.
Tony particularly enjoys helping clients navigate long-term family planning and intergenerational wealth transfer. He has a strong interest in trust planning and believes some of the most rewarding financial planning conversations are those that help clients create lasting opportunities not only for their children, but for future generations of their family.
His approach is relaxed and approachable, but he takes the responsibility of advising clients incredibly seriously. Tony believes trust is earned through honest conversations, careful planning and consistently doing the right thing. He is passionate about helping clients bridge the gap between the technical aspects of financial planning and the things that matter most in their everyday lives.
Tony's interest in financial planning was shaped by personal experience. After seeing a family member pay unnecessary inheritance tax despite having professional advice in place, he developed a strong belief that everything starts with a conversation. He believes clients deserve advice that is personal, thoughtful and built around a genuine understanding of their circumstances.
Before joining Hyland Financial Planning in 2025, Tony built a broad range of experience across financial services, including banking, mortgage advice, specialist lending and adviser management. He holds the Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS) and is continuing his professional development with the aim of achieving Chartered status.
Outside work, Tony enjoys following current affairs, economics and financial markets. However, most of his free time is spent with his wife and two young children. Whether it is family holidays, football at the weekend, bike rides or simply spending time together, family remains at the centre of his life and a constant reminder of why long-term financial planning matters.
